🔒 Short version: We do not collect, store, or share your personal data on any server. All data stays on your device. We use Firebase Analytics anonymously to improve the app.

1. Introduction

Web Scanner Pro ("we", "our", or "the app") is a free utility app that provides tools such as WA Web access, Status Saver, WA Cleaner, Direct Messaging, and Message Scheduler. This Privacy Policy explains what information is handled when you use our app and applies to all users worldwide, including users in the European Economic Area (EEA) and California.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect or transmit to our servers:

Your phone number or contact list
Messages you compose or schedule
Photos, videos, or files you save or delete
Your WA account credentials or session data
Your name, email address, or any personally identifiable information

3. Data Stored Locally on Your Device

The following data is stored only on your device and never sent to any server:

Scheduled Messages: Phone numbers, message text, and scheduled times you enter in the Message Scheduler are saved in a local database on your device only.
WA Account Names: Names you give to your WA accounts (e.g. "Personal", "Business") are stored locally in app preferences.
App Preferences: UI settings such as hiding the how-it-works tip are stored locally.

You can delete all of this data at any time by uninstalling the app.

4. Permissions Used and Why

Permission	Purpose
Internet	Required to load WA Web in the in-app browser.
Read External Storage (Android 10 and below)	Used only to read WA status files and media for Status Saver and WA Cleaner. Files are never uploaded anywhere.
Post Notifications (Android 13+)	Used to display reminders for your scheduled messages. You can disable this in device Settings > Apps.
Schedule Exact Alarm	Used to fire scheduled message reminders at the precise time you selected. Without exact timing, reminders could be significantly delayed.
Receive Boot Completed	Used to restore your scheduled message alarms after a device restart so reminders are not lost.

The contact picker in Message Scheduler opens the system contacts app managed by your device. We only read the selected phone number at the moment you pick it. We do not store, sync, or upload your contact list.

5. Third-Party Services

The app integrates the following Google Firebase services:

Firebase Analytics
Collects anonymous usage statistics (e.g. which features are used, session duration, app open counts) and anonymous device information (OS version, device model, country). This data cannot be used to identify you personally. It is used solely to understand how the app is used and to improve it.
Data retention: Firebase retains analytics data for up to 14 months by default.
Opt-out: You can disable analytics data collection by going to Settings > Google > Ads > Opt out of Ads Personalisation on your device, or by using a Firebase Analytics opt-out tool.
Google Privacy Policy

Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM)
Used to deliver push notifications (e.g. app update announcements). FCM uses a device registration token that is not linked to any personal identity. We do not use FCM to track you.
Firebase Privacy Policy

Firebase Remote Config
Used to remotely update app configuration settings. No personal data is collected or transmitted through this service.

⚠️ Note: These Firebase services are provided by Google LLC and governed by Google's privacy policy. By using this app, you also agree to Google's Terms of Service.

6. WA Web Feature

The WA Accounts feature loads web.whatsapp.com inside an in-app browser (WebView). Your WA session data (cookies, local storage) is stored locally on your device by Android's WebView component, exactly as it would be in any web browser. We have no access to your WA session, messages, or account credentials.

7. Your Rights (GDPR & Privacy Laws)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or other regions with applicable privacy laws, you have the following rights:

Right to Access: You can request information about what data we hold about you.
Right to Deletion: You can request deletion of your data. For locally stored data (scheduled messages, preferences), simply uninstalling the app deletes everything. For Firebase analytics data, contact us and we will submit a deletion request to Google on your behalf.
Right to Object: You can opt out of Firebase Analytics as described in Section 5.
Right to Portability: Your locally stored data can be deleted by uninstalling the app. Firebase analytics data is anonymous and cannot be attributed to you.
Right to Lodge a Complaint: You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

8. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

This app is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has used this app and provided personal information, please contact us immediately so we can take appropriate action.

9. Data Security

Since we do not collect personal data on any server, the risk of a server-side data breach is zero. Data stored locally on your device is protected by Android's built-in security (screen lock, full-disk encryption). We recommend keeping your device's OS up to date for the best security.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify you via an in-app notice. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
